# App Competitor Inventory

Status: Complete with Firecrawl and Tavily evidence.

Last updated: 2026-05-07

Decision supported: the market has many dementia resources, family-care tools, safety tools, brain-health products, and AI wellness chatbots, but the defensible gap remains a Thai-first, caregiver-first dementia AI co-pilot that turns stressful voice check-ins into structured care logs, burden signals, safe next steps, and family handoff summaries.

## Research Method

Firecrawl was used for broad search and page scraping. Tavily was used for additional source discovery and triangulation after the API key was provided during the session. Raw evidence is cached under `.firecrawl/` and `.tavily/`; final synthesis is written here.

## Category Findings

### Dementia And Alzheimer Memory-Aid Apps

Memory Aid AI is the closest to the literal "AI second brain for memory impairment" idea because it captures and transcribes conversations. MapHabit and MindMate also support memory or routine needs, but they are less like an LLM second brain and more like structured routines, cognitive activity, or healthy-aging support.

The product risk is that patient-memory apps can drift into surveillance, transcript privacy, or clinical claims. For our project, the stronger v1 is caregiver-side capture: "What happened today, how did it affect me, and what should the family know?"

### Caregiver And Family Coordination Apps

Alzheimer's Care Partner, Elevmi, Amicus Brain/RAZ Care, Brain CareNotes, Dementia CareAssist, CogniCare, IanaCare, CaringBridge, Lotsa Helping Hands, and Carely show that caregivers need three different workflows:

- Guidance for what to do now.
- A shared record of what happened.
- Help from family and community.

The gap is that most products solve one of these at a time. Our app should combine a quick Thai voice check-in, structured incident log, burden signal, and family handoff.

### Brain-Health And Cognitive-Training Apps

MindMate, Constant Therapy, BrainCheck, Neurotrack, Nymbl, Together Senior Health, and similar tools are useful for cognitive activity, screening, rehab, or prevention positioning. They are not the center of this project because the hackathon MVP should avoid diagnosis and treatment claims.

The lesson is to borrow evidence discipline and clear professional-use boundaries, not clinical scope.

### Generic AI Wellness Chatbot Overlap

Wysa and Woebot prove that conversational AI can be framed responsibly for emotional support. Their strongest lesson is not feature parity. Their strongest lesson is safety language: crisis boundaries, escalation, and avoiding unsupported medical promises.

For our app, the caregiver should not feel like they are talking to a generic mental-health bot. The conversation should immediately understand dementia-care context and produce useful family artifacts.

### Thai And Regional Care Apps

ElderThai, OnCare, ThaiHelper, Care24, Chalerm App, Dinsaw Home AI Assistance, AIT Elder Care AI Project, and CloudNurse prove that Thailand has practical elder-care demand, local digital health precedent, and emerging AI elder-tech activity. They are mostly services, marketplaces, facility platforms, robotics, content, or community health apps, not family caregiver second-brain products.

This strengthens the gap: Thai families have local care services, but not a Thai-first AI co-pilot for daily dementia caregiving stress.

## Inventory Decision

Proceed with the current project direction. Do not pivot to a patient memory app, clinical cognitive assessment app, AI companion robot, or caregiver marketplace. The best hackathon wedge is:

> Thai caregiver voice check-in -> structured dementia incident log -> burden signal -> safe next step -> family handoff summary.
